philgib-

There are always new camera announcements in the Spring of the year that center on the PMA show. Then again, ususlly at the end of August of in the first half of September, there is usually a series of further announcements of new cameras, to hearld the cameras that will be introduced for the Christmas season.

For example, Canon has scheduled introductions for the end of August 2007 of new cameras, some people are looking for new models of these cameras: The canon G-7, the Canon A-640, and the Canon A-710.

There is a better chance of a minor upg on the D80, in a similar way that they did with the D70 turning it to the D70s. As for the XTi/400D then more likely that there won't be a new release until at least the Spring as it is one of the newer Canon models so I would think the 30D and 5D will be replaced first.

My general advice is buy a camera when you need it/want it otherwise you will always be waiting for the next best thing.

Cameras are like partners, the more you wait, the better the model... :G

The problem with that concept is the more you wait the more you go without. Hard to put a price tag on all the missed opportunities because you just keep waiting.

The best price for the camera you want will happen at the same time as the best price for a computer: exactly one day after you buy it. Or one day after the no-questions-asked return policy expires.

Thank you, Bill-

I am being very honest in saying that those are words of wisdom, as I just had it happen to me.

Waiting has a different concept in Mexico, where you can access treasures if you can bve patient. Of course, nothing to do with cameras.

Don't worry, if I can hit some sales in september, I will go for a purchase, the saleswould simply allow me for a faster lens.

But yes, the time when you would purchase a Leica SLR for life is over...
