You mention the two Sigma lens 120-300 2.
8 and 70-200 2.? Little smilly face in the way. What is the other number. thanks
f/2.8

I you have a close parenthesis after an 8 like this:

Code:
8)
Then, the WowBB software will interpret it as this:

8)

So, when JohnG typed this:

Code:
In fact, two of my primary money making lenses are non canons (Sigma 120-300 2.8 and sigma 70-200 2.8).
The WowBB software turned it into this:

Quote:
In fact, two of my primary money making lenses are non canons (Sigma 120-300 2.8 and sigma 70-200 2.8).
It's a quirk with the software when it sees an 8 immediately followed by a )

If you type it like this, the problem won't happen (put a space in between the 8 and the close paren):

Quote:
In fact, two of my primary money making lenses are non canons (Sigma 120-300 2.8 and sigma 70-200 2.8 ).

Thanks for an excellent post, JohnG-

First of all, I think that we had better put to rest the QC problem. There is indeed a QC problem with the XTi bodies under exposing, NOT THE LENSES. It is not a huge problem, but the cameras have to go back to Canon to be recalibrated, and then they seem to be OK.

I cannot quantify a percentage or a number. I just see the under exposure problem mentioned a lot on the dpreview Canon Forum, and I have had students in my classses who have experienced the same problem. And, yes, I will admit that it is frustrating to spend around $(US) 700.00 for and XTi and then to have to send it in to Canon immediately for recalibration.

Regarding lenses:I really feel that the lenses that are used by anyone, speak to the kind of photos they are taking and personal preferences.

I think the Pentax K100D is still the best camera for the money, and a wide choice of lenses, almost every lens they made will fit.

FL Gulfer-

You are so very correct! With the Pentax Summertime Rebates, prices are at an all time low.
