I'm replacing my Nikon 4300 and have narrowed my search to the following: Canon SX100IS, Sony DSC-H3, Panasonic DMC-TZ3. I will primary be using it for landscapes (daylight and low light), macros (plants), people. Which would you recommend for photo quality, ease of use, and features?

Thanks
Eddie

DPReview compared those three camera, http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canonsx100is/page6.asp

Seems like Canon is winning, followed by Sony and Panasonic. but there are more to consider. Panasonic has wider lens. Canon uses AA batteries. Sony has face detection.

You can also check this side by side comparison.

You'll probably want to read their manuals in order to find out their ease of use (menu, etc.).

I'm trying to track down user reviews on the Lumix TZ3 too.

It's won all sorts of awards this year. And there have to be good reasons why.

You want to do landscape work, the 28mm lens is a big plus. And 10x zoom when you need it.

Check out this link for lots of great pix.

Unless you really need to attach filters or add-on lenses, (in which case you could look at the Lumix FZ series in a traditional SLR size and operation ) using the LCD screen to frame landscapes is a snap.

Whereas if you wanted to do a lot of photography at 5-10x zoom, birds, or field sportsetc etc you'd be better of with the FZ series with choice of viewfinder (for tracking and binocular vision of the 'big picture' where the subject is moving through) and LCD screen as required.
