For Christmas today I got a very nice Canon SD750. My sister already had one of these camera's and I used it previously and liked it so I got one as a Christmas gift. I love that camera but I did notice for only $50 more I could get the SD850 which is 8 megapixels, has a 4x zoom instead of 3 and some other features that I probably won't use. Should I just keep my gift or would it be worth exchanging for the SD850? The extra 50 bucks doesn't bother me although I would feel a little ungrateful to ask for the receipt so I can return it for something that might be better....

Merry Christmas! - I had to get away from the dinner table - desert is still there begging me to take another "sample" or I am going to gain 10 lbs that I do not need.

I have an older SD500, and the only thing I would change would be the addition of image stablization. There are a number of shots that in reviewing them later, I have found that there is some shake and I would have like to have had a steady shot.

I think that the 850 has IS while the 750 does not - you would need to actually check this. Everything else is marketing really, but I have found that having IS is worthwild. Otherwise, regardless of the other various numbers (MP, Zoom, etc.), they are essentially the same camera. Just my opinion....

Enjoy and take pictures!

Thanks....

Yea, I don't think the 750 has the IS.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
