Hey everyone-

I'm looking to create a setup similar to what you'd find at the DMV when getting a drivers license photo taken.

We're going to be cataloging ~1000 small objects for a new project and I am trying to streamline the process as much as possible. I have a piece of software to catalog each item/take inventory and it allows you to pull an image from a TWAIN compatible device. Turns out the camera that we had here (Nikon Coolpix 990) does not have a TWAIN driver.

We are in the market for a new camera that DOES support the TWAIN protocol. I've checked out offerings from Nikon/Canon and can't really find a distinct and positive answer to my question regarding TWAIN support so I was wondering if anyone here had any experience on the subject.

We're basically looking for a digital 35mm with TWAIN support. At this point, price is not a concern as we're doing preliminary research. Thanks!

Canon's Digital Rebel XT comes with TWAIN and WIA drivers in the box.
