Hello guys ,my friend just bought a canon ixus 860 is.. his problem is that the flash is not that powerful..like when we were on the beach at night and tried clicking a pic it just came dark...
even in the day when he zooms to 7x the pic comes dark...whys this??? any thing he can do???
also in some pics we get white circles...

Thanks for the kind words. The lack of response is probably due to the lack of clarity in your question. Posting a pic or two would help others maybe determine exactly what the problem is. Most P&S cameras have very weak flash units, with a range of around 10 ft or less. There's really not much you can do about it except getting closer to your subject and making sure you're within range. In the daytime, the dark pictures are underexposed. What mode are you shooting in?? Adjusting exposure compensation may help a little. The white circles are probably dust particles reflecting the flash.

Your friend can consider purchasing Canon's high power external slave flash, HF-DC1.

Your friend could also consider using the free Picasa software from Google for red eye removal. It works well.
