Sarah,

Have a great trip. I enjoy your posts, and hope your husband does not suffer from flash blindness. ;-)

I bought one of those Gorillapod clones by Targus (Grypton XL) at Walmart today. It's nice and light weight. It can serve as a table tripod, or be positioned almost any way you want. I have wrapped it around my camera bag shoulder strap, so it should not be too much extra effort to bring along. We'll see.

Dennis-

I packed a tripod and a monopod today, just to be sure.

Sarah,

I think that was a wise choice. I'm hoping this Targus Grypton will work out for an easy, always-there tripod for me. It certainly won't be as good as a "real" tripod, but I'm hoping it will provide me that edge I need for improved shots when I need it.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Dennis

Dennis-

I find that even in a crowd, I can use a mono pod, and it is a real assist.
