Guys I checked online and liked Panasonic Lumix FZ8 and Sony DSC H-7 and m unable to make up my mind

I wud like to knw which of these Digi cam is better

What I was lookin for initially was Good Op Zoom and a high res

I basically need the Digi for all sorts of pics natural, wildlife, parties, indoors n outdoors

These are the 2 best cameras that fit into my budget

Please gimme a comparision between these 2

and which will be better

If possible also tell me which features shud I check before buying a digi cam

They are both good cameras. I prefer the picture quality of the Panasonic, but Sony appears to be less noisy in low light.

The Panasonic FZ-8 is a highly regarded camera. I have seen some great outdoor photos from the FZ-8. However, when you shift to flash its a somewhat different story. At ISO 100 the flash range is just 9 feet.

The Sony H-7 has a semi (31mm) wide angle that zooms to 456mm which it just a touch greater than the FZ-8. It has a better flash range. The H-7 is also highly regarded. So with the exception of the FZ-8's flash performance, the two cameras are about equal.

I would suggest that you visit a "big box" store and handle and examine the two cameras. That also might be a decision point for you, as they are shaped differently.

Yeh, most Panas have quite a lousy flash. The big FZ30/FZ50 are the sole exceptions. On the other hand, the Sonys usually have an exceptionally powerful flash. If the camera is primarily for outdoors I would go with the FZ8, though.
