I am very interested in the new Panasonic TZ5 because you can zoom in and out during movie mode. This does not seem to be a common function on cameras. Can anyone put together a list of cameras that can do this?

I know the Sanyo ones can do this but I would prefer a dedicated camera like the TZ5.

I would also love it if the camera had a decent wide angle (like 28mm) and a decent zoom (like 4x or better).

I have a Fuji E550 that has been great.

Thanks

Since you like Fuji, the S6000 (recently discontinued), S9100 (both 10.7x), and the new S100fs (14.3x) all have a 28mm bottom end, and a manual zoom ring (as opposed to a lever or toggle switch), so you can zoom during videos.

Thanks - I have seen those. While I would love to have one of those I think my wife will insist on a smaller camera that she can put in her purse when she uses it for pictures of the kids. So any other known models that can zoom during filming in movie mode?

I have seen that Canon has a few models that look like they can zoom during movie mode but they do not have the 28mm wide angle ability.

Thanks.

That makes things a bit more difficult...
