hey all

..after several years with my olympus w8080 wide zoom, i am now looking for a compact camera, which is easy to carry around and still offers a high picture quality. price should be 300 € maximum. i´d also like a decent video mode for "from time to time" video clip.

here are my favourites

lumix dmc-fx500
canon ixus 960 IS (but has been reported as slow, right?)
sony t200
samsung nv 24 hd (though image quality has been sometimes been rated as bad)

and last but not least the sony w300

suggestions, hints, or experiences with one of these?

thanks for your answers

elmar

The Canon SD950IS has superb picture quality. That would be my pick with the Panasonic FX500 second and the Sony W300 third.

thanks for the answer at first. what about the speed of the lumix, and its image quality? i´ve so far read a few reviews, where these two were reported as "medium".. any other suggestions so far?

i have done some research, and by doing this, could eliminate the t-series of panasonic. at least some progress ..
