"Leica" and "Hasselblad" are searched more often than "Camera".

"Minolta", which is defunct, is searched more often than "Pentax", which is alive and kicking.

Actually, no. The most searched list is the distillation of the collective ignorance of eBayers.

On the most searched list for DVDs & Movies, the only actual movie title is 'Star Wars'. On the most searched list for all categories, the top three searches are 'Wii', 'iPod', and 'Xbox 360'.

What people search for and what they buy are two different things. What people buy is based in reality; what they search for is a fantasy. It would not surprise me to learn that more people search for 'Ferrari' than 'Chevrolet' and 'Ford' combined. Unfortunately, that info is not available.

If you go down to the bottom of the page, you can see the most watched individual auctions. I think you are looking at the ten most searched 'terms'.

if you use the pull down menu you can break it down to lens, etc.
