SOOOOO in my previous post i was torn between two canon's but nowi'm more uncertain than ever!! lol... I currently have an olympus e410 and looking to upgrade... i don't really do any sports photography so that's not an issue, and don't care for live view so that's not a deal breaker either.... also i'm looking to stay under or around $800.....

i'm sure yall will be tons of help!

The first question is do you have any lenses? If you do not own any lenses, then take a look at the Canon XTi body, now selling for around $(US)520.00 and buy a used lens, or the Sony A-200 which is $(US)499.00 with the 18-70mm kit lens.

The Zuiko lenses, usually the 14-45mm or 14-42mm as the kit lens and the 40-150mm telephoto are pretty good quality lenses. They exceed the quality of the canon and Nikon kit lenses.

Lenses purchased separately can very widely depending on the lens maker. What camera were you using the Zuiko lenses on?

The Sony A-350 can make sense if you really want a DSLR with a "live view" mode and an articulated LCD screen. However, the Sony 18-70mm kit lens that comes with the A-350 is a lesser quality kit lens.

The Oly E-410 does not have IS, but it is still a good camera. I also own the E-410 and I have been pleased with it. Here is an E-410 photo sample.

Well, back to the Sony A-350 discussion, then. My only problem with the Sony A-350 image quality is that to get the best image quality you might have to consider shooting RAW. The A-350's jpeg photo quality has been noted to not be one of the best.

Previously, you mentioned Canon and Nikon, have you now abandoned those brands? Is Olympus an option?

What would you conside an upgrade to the Olympus E-410?

Image stabilization?

Selectionof lenses and accesories?

Larger image sensor?

Higher Resolution Image Sensor?

BetterHigh ISO Performance?

Each of these, and others, would constitute and upgrade, but which is important to you?
