I don't know if they ship to Australia, but Ritz Camera in the USA has the Fuji F45fd, which is the same as the F40fd. This is one of the best small cameras ever made for shooting low light photos. http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/541245346.htm

If not the Fuji F45fd, I'd recommend the Sony W150.

The W300 has a larger 1/1.7"sensor than the W150 with 1/1.25as well as semi-manual controls. well worth the extra price imho.

Pinky-

Wirraway got me researching on the W-300, thanks Wirraway, and it appears that larger imager really does make a difference. Here are two sample photos. The first is taken at ISO 1600, and the second photo was taken at ISO 5000. Both are very good indeed. So for your low light level needs, the Sony W-300 might be the real answer. I will see what else I can find.

Pinky-

Here is the second photo taken at ISO 5000. Perhaps wirraway can give more information about Sony reliability and endurance. If I remember correctly he uses the W-200 and H-5 Sony cameras.

but i also will play around with A720IS in the store next week n decide between W300 or A720IS. i really appreciate all ur suggestions!!!

Hi Pinky

Depends what type of photography you think you will be using your camera for, I do a lot of low light and the W300 is great for this. If I were choosing between the W150 and the Canon for a general knockabout camera, would probably go for the Canon.

When I order the W300 it will most likely be from B&H New York, although reading from people that have ordered from Hong Kong they seem toreceive their cameras ok.

B&H sell the DSC-W300 for USD$349 (A$401) + shipping

Hope this helps
