My Girlfriend and i are flying to Sizilia on 3th of September.

We want to film a little bit and we are looking for a camera thats very easy to use, needs not much time to put the files on a pc and the files dont need to be converted all time to be edited . We will often burn a dvd with a month of our films

We like to point and shoot our dog, so there comes the flip mino in, its so easy to use.

We dont know if we should buy a Flip Mino and sell it when the Kodak Zi6 with HD will be released or buy a Jazz 178 or a clone of this or buy a Mino and keep it.

Our impressions on these 3 , please correct them :

My girlfriend likes the Mino cause its so easy to use . She doesnt like Cameras that get too complicated. We dont want to toggle there a bit with contrast , toggle here, just point , press record and shot in 2 seconds.

I dont know if the Jazz 178 / 188 can provide that or if the Kodak will be to big for the pocket.

What ive read and watched ON Vimeo.com (what is a very great site)

Flip Mino :

Pros:

Very Easy to Use
Nice Software
Nice Gadget and nice look
Mini , fits in my jeans
Good sound
Long-Lasting Lithium Battery

Cons:
Only 640x480 , not soo good picture quality (i dont know if this will get on my nerv)
No Card-Slot, only 1 Hour

Jazz 178:

Pros:

For the money, i like the great picture quality
Relatively stable and compact

Cons:
seems no point and shoot camera, toggle here a bit , toggle there
i think i have to convert often etc.
shaky picture with no tripod ( i will not buy one for holiday)

Kodak Zi6:

Small compact size with HD picture quality
Can take stills instead of mino
Easy to use
Point and shoot

Cons:
Release Late September (too late for our vacation)
Bigger than the Mino
Not released, so very few reviews and no examples of the picture quality on Vimeo

Picture quality is more important to me, for my girlfriend the "Easy-to-use" , "Mini size", "Take out and shoot immediatly" is more important.

Can the Jazz be a camera for my girlfriend too? Is the picture quality of the Flip Mino on a big LCD Screen good enough ? That are questions that i cannot answer and here i need your help

etainer-

We also reviewed the same trio of cameras, and decided to take our chances on the Kodak Zi6. At $179.00 it offers an easy to use video capability for my handicapped husband who is confined to a scooter.

The Kodak website indicates that they will be shipping sometime in the first week of September. That does not work well for you.
