I want to photograph my paintings, and need good clear pictures that can be enlarged to 24x30. I use a tripod for shooting, but would like IS for other pics. My current budget is $200 +/- , but will not rule out a higher priced cam (I may have to wait for it to go on sale!) My current cam is Olympic D380 2mp-takes good pics and 8x10's. It is a little old! I would appreciate any recommendations for a P&S, also any advice on what to look for in a camera for this purpose. Thanks!

I would suggest the Fuji F50fd and F60fd, 12 megapixel point and shoots with IS.

Most of the name brand at the $200 range with a 1/1.63 or 1/1.73 sensor will produce equal photos of your art work. You might want to consider a Kodak Z1085 or Z1285 (sub-$200) while you save for a DSLR which is really the direction you should be heading.

Thank you both very very much. Yes, I do want to go dslr but am unable to go that route now. Maybe when I become rich from my paintings!!Perhaps I may even become a great photographer.

I do appreciate you both taking the time to answer my request!
