Cannot decide which to go for Olympus SP565 or Sony 50. Olympus has wider angle lens.
Had a Panasonic Bridge previously but not mad about menu.
Use :- General, Buildings, and occasional Cycle races
Any help / reasons very much appreciated.

I have owned the Olympus SP 550 and 570 along with the Sony H-50. I much prefer the H-50 to either of the Oly cameras.

After buying a bridge camera my thoughts are don't. Especially if you are doing cycle races. You need more speed and there is only one way to get it. Get a DSLR. Even if you have to go the used route. I spent $400 on a bridge camera 3 years ago and it was OK but after I bought my first DSLR I realized it was a waste of hard earned cash. Nothing in a P&S is going to come close to the cheapest DSLR. If you just want something to put in your pocket or purse they are OK but if you are serious about capturing cycle races go ahead and bite the bullet. You can really get some great deals on all the brands and you can't go wrong with any of them. C. W.

Point well made. A DSLR is always going to be better in terms of IQ. I like ultra zooms for their small size, but also shoot DSLRS.
