Many salesmen told me that Sony's Live View is the fastest when compared to other brands.
It is (Autofocus using Live View is much faster with the Sony A300 or A350 compared to other dSLR models with Live View). That's because it's design allows the use of it's primary 9 point AF sensor assembly using Live View, without the "Mirror Flipping" needed with other dSLR models to use their primary AF sensor, or the slower AF times associated with Contrast Detect Autofocus using a camera's main sensor.

But, because the Sony dSLR models with live view have a separate image sensor in the viewfinder housing that provides the live view image display (so that the image sensor sees the same view that would normally go to the optical viewfinder), the optical viewfinders are smaller on the A300 and A350 compared to Sony dSLR models without Live View (A200, A700, A900).
