What digital cameras are available that can be charged over USB when connected to a computer?

I don't know that there are no cameras that can be charged via USB, but I know that the typical power available via USB is 100ma, with 500ma available if the device requests it. That's not enough current to power the device and charge the batteries as well.

There is Powered USB, which can supply up to 5A, but it is only for special systems, and conventional computers don't support it.

So I think it is extremely unlikely that there are cameras that can use USB to charge their batteries. I know that cell phones can be charged that way, but it takes a lot longer than when using a conventional charger.

Thanks, that's great information and explains why it's not a common feature.

I have found that Kodak had some digital cameras that charged over USB. I'm not sure if any of their current models do though.

I prefer not to have to buy a Kodak digital camera so I'll be calling all major manufacturers and asking them this question.

My Samsung L730 can be charged by USB. Powered USB port I meant, as well ad AC adapter (using the same USB cable.)
