I have been reviewing camers for a while and I am trying to find a Canon A720. I have owned powershots and prefer to stick with what I know. Furthermore, I love the all the available settings and controls.

My dilema is that all online retailers seem to be out of stock and the camera is now $300+. Unfortunately I cant afford this right now so I am asking any of you if you can recommend a site where I may purchase the camera or suggest a comparable camera. I have reviewed the a590 and a710, however, again would prefer the a720. I am currently taking a look at the sx1100. I am looking for all the shutter speed adjustments, white balance, etc and the use of 2 AA batteries. I would also like the highest picture resolution and zoom. as well as I also am looking for highspeeds and the burst mode feature.

I would greatly appreciate any comments, recommendations, opinions, etc.

Many Thanks!

Ebay has a buy it now listing for that camera for $169. That's not a bad deal.

There are three listings for refurbished A720's for between $170 and $180 on pricegrabber.

I checked out ebay, but unfortuantely, those are all refurbs. I would prefer to buy from a reputable seller with a warranty.

Also, does anyone know if the sx1100 has the capability to interchange lenses? A large part of the reason I want the 720 is because of the lens adapter.

Thanks.

The SD1100 IS will not accept a lens adapter tube. Consider the 590 IS, it will work as you expect, but it has a shorter zoom than the 720 IS.

www.powershot.com (check out the Powershot cameras here)

The A720 is sold as a refurb at Adorama for $149. I think they are pretty reputable. You can get an ok warranty on it from squaretrade for a very reasonable price.
