Am trying to replace my wife's Canon SD800IS that we broke recently.

Would like a compact, point and shoot (manual controls not really needed) camera with the same capabilities as the SD800IS :

- Wide angle (28mm or less)
- Zoom 4-5X (or more)
- Optical viewfinder

Have looked everywhere (I know of) with no luck.

Any ideas?

Sony W-series are as close as you will get.

Thanks - very helpful!
Not a big fan of the Memory Stick Duo memory card, but it does look like the W150 and W170 have the features I want.

I guess all the vendors are choosing bigger lcd screens over viewfinder.

Not always a bigger LCD. But brighter, at least on demand. For example, my Fuji lacks a viewfinder. But in sunlight I can press a button to pump up the LCD brightness for several seconds. Enough to easily see the image and set the final framing. More and more cameras also have auto LCD brightness. So you don't even have to press any button. I'm used to viewfinders from my 35mm days. They are definitely a comfort factor. However, lack of a viewfinder has never stopped me from getting a shot.
