Default Canon viewfinder info timing-out

I'm interested in the Canon T1i, but there is one feature that is important to me and It seems no way to get it.

I want to adjust the viewfinder info so it does not time-out (or at least so it takes a long time before it does). I've contacted Canon but they've said they do not offer this option on their cameras.

I'd slightly prefer the Canon, but if there is no way to change this timing-out on the Canon, it'll be another Nikon for me. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums.

I'm not sure I'd care about a viewfinder timeout setting, since you could you simply half press the shutter button when you want to see the information if you think the default timeout is too short.

Since it sounds like you're looking for a new camera, I'll move this thread down to our What Camera Should I Buy? where other members are more likely to see your concerns and respond.
