Default Compact that takes AA batteries

I want to avoid the proprietary batteries if at all possible. So I am looking for the best most compact digital that takes AA batteries. Any suggestions???

This is a list of the ones I've been looking at:

Canon Powershot A2100IS
Fujifilm A150
Kodak Easyshare C1013
Nikon Coolpix L20
Olympus FE-45
Panasonic DMC-LZ10K

I like the Canon A1000is. Good picture quality, sharp lens, small size, includes an optical viewfinder, and inexpensive.

I have a Canon PowerShot A720IS and carry it everywhere. Uses AA batteries, compact, inexpensive, and no problems in the 2 years I've had it.

Will-

The real problem is finding a Canon A-720IS. They are no longer available.

dr spock-

You mean the Canon A-2100? It was a fast replacement for the A-2000.

I've actually seen the A720IS going as a refurb for $129 in recent weeks. Ouch! After that, they'll be gone again for good.

I looked recently and pricegrabber.com found some outlets where they're still available new (old stock).

Thanks, Will-

The Canon A-720 IS was a great camera. That is wonderful news that will really help the OP.

My brother owns the Cannon A-720 for business use (he puts values on company assets) and he likes the camera for business use. Has a 2GB card loaded in it.

But for his home use he has another cannon (A-560 I think) that he loves with a 2GB card built in.

He likes the fact he can use AAs in the camera. He has rechargeable batteries in the camera and carries a spare set of AAs with him.
