Default Camera with no delay?

We have purchased different cameras over the years, but we always have trouble trying to find one that does not delay when snapping a picture. You know how much little kids move around, it is hard to get the picture you want unless there is no delay. Can someone tell me of some cameras that don't have a delay?

Once pre-focused a lot won't have much of a delay but obviously some are better than others. What sort of budget are we talking about?

I am just looking for something that is small and fairly inexpensive, say under 200.00?

Certainly the Kodak Z1485 is an option, as it is under $(US)200.00. It has 5X Optical Zone, with 14mp, and its output is pretty amazing. I just bought one.

And, as Mark pointed out, with whatever camera you buy, it would be wise to prefocus - that is to say, you should aim your camera at your target and press the shutter button halfway down so it can "lock" onto the subject. When you see the shot you want, press the button down the rest of the way. Also, go into your camera's menu and select "single point" rather than "multi-point" focus. That should speed things up quite a bit.
