Default Which Compact Digital

I have a Nikon D80 and two good lenses. I want to purchase a pocket/compact digital that I can carry in my shirt pocket and take really good snapshots, maybe even let my wife and kids use it at parties, games etc.
I don't want to break the bank either. I do prefer Nikon, Olympus, and Panasonic (leica lenses) cameras not Canon or Sony.

Panasonic FS15 will give about the most bang-for-the-buck. If that is too pricey, the Nikon S220 is less expensive. Panasonic FX150 and FX5#0 are high end ultracompacts, sometimes hard to find, arguably better IQ than the FS-series (or not). Nikon S710 is a rare ultracompact with cool manual control, but performance is lackluster.

I'd check the new Sony WX1 (to be released). The specs look pretty impressive.

I agree with Tullio, 100%-

The Sony WX-1 specifications look very impressive. The camera will be on dealer shelves next month, September 2009. It will be interesting to see the professional reviews.

Have a wonderful day.
