Default Time Lapse

I am looking at purchasing a new camera in the 300 USD range. Some of them come with a Time Lapse feature (Nikon P90). The Canon SX10 IS is currently at the top of my decidometer, but it does not have Time Lapse built in. Can it be added, and if so, what are my options? My computers run Apple OS X. Thanks!

It does not appear that it has an external interface for a wired or wireless shutter release. Additionally, even though it has a USB capability no information is provided in terms of what its able to actually do - other than transfer images. You need to look at the functionality of the software that comes with it.

I haven't kept up with the models that have that feature (which is often referred to as an Intervalometer).

For some Canon models, you may want to consider this script running under CHDK:

You can see more about CHDK on it's main Wiki page here:

The Olympus SP570UZ has a time-lapse feature, will accept a USB shutter release (wired or wireless), and has a bulb setting.
