Default Which One

Own a Canon IS S5 and love it but want to get a point & shoot . I have narrowed it down to 3 (I think)
1. Canon SD990 IS
2. Canon A2000 IS
3. Pana DMC-ZS3
Any one own or look at these who can give me their thoughts ? I would like to pick one up in the next couple weeks - thanks !!

billtkat-

That is a very interesting switch from the Canon S-5 IS to much smaller and less speced cameras. why is that??

The Panny ZS3 is the newest design of those 3. Very popular choice as a daylight camera, it would be my 1st pick. With one qualifier - the Canon SD990 is one of the rare pocket cams still featuring an optical viewfinder. So if it happened that this SD990 is priced well under the ZS3, that could sway my choice.

Wanted to have something small to carry around sometimes. The S5 is great but sometimes too big when carrying around for simple, quick shots

The ZS3 is good outside and has a nice wide angle. However, it seems to struggle indoors. I own the ZS1. As a true pocket camera the SD990 with it metal casing would be subject to perhaps less damage, dust and lint. Just a thought.

Have a great day.

A co-worker just bought a Fuji f100fd. It's a 5x zoom camera but very capable, both out and indoors. Its major selling point is the large sensor. You might want to check it out.
