Default If you had to buy one

If any of you had to buy only one dSLR entry level what would it be?
What camera on the market now would you choose as the one to take on an extended vacation?
Thank you.

Bumpa-

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for dropping by.

If you had no other photo requirements (indoor sports, low light level shooting etc) than vacation photos, you could save some money, and go with a Song A-230 DSLR.

Have a great day.

If it was just vacation I would recommend whichever one felt best when you went into the store to handle them. If you've never used a DSLR before I would not recommend buying one you hadn't handled.

But I assume you're planning on using the camera beyond the vacation. So those uses should be factored in. I would suggest starting a new thread with your specific needs. I don't want this discussion to go sideways to address your needs vs. the poster of this thread.

also, if you have never shot a dslr, then don't go on your vacation expecting your pictures to be improved because you have your shiny new dslr. actually if you have no experience with slr's or the basics fundamentals of photography, your photos may actually be worse with a dslr vs p&s.
