Default Need help in selecting SLR Camera

Hi,

I am planning to buy a SLR camera. I am unable to select which one should I buy. I am having a Sony DSC H5 digital camera. I have been using it for the past 2 years. I am looking at buying a advanced camera than the present one. Can anyone please let me know what are the different options available for me.

Appreciate your help in selecting the camera

Regards,
MG

Different brands and different models are better suited for some things than for others. Can you talk about what types of photography you want to do?

Another important consideration is how much you have to spend. What's your budget for a camera and lenses?

The different options available to you are both extensive and similar at the same time. Which can be mind bending (if you happen to be ultra analytical). Here are links to more good threads on DSLR selection -

Plow into those (at least a little), then come back here with any questions that come out of that.

no help Kelly

PS - revised failling links

Thanks for your responses.
Coming to the photograpy I am doing, I not a through professional in photography. I am a decent photographer. I would like to explorer more in this. As I mentioned that I was having a Sony DSC. 7.2 mega pixel, 10.2 zoom. There is no extra lense for my camera. I would love to share my photographs with you all.

Coming to the budget, I am fine spendning around 1000 -1500 for the camera and lense.

I tried looking for the above links, but the page didn't open. If you have any other links, please do share so that I can read more about the cameras.
