Default Advice needed: Dentist needs PS camera for close up shots

Hi- I have a client who's a dentist. I'm trying to help them with getting a new point and shoot camera. I love my DSLR, but they want the simplicity of a PS.

All they will use this for is close up pictures of before and after pics of their work on patients.

Suggestions?

for this type of work i think they will want a ring type macro flash, in order to get proper illumination on the teeth, so this someone constrains their choices.

i think the best bet would be a Canon G11 with a TTL type macro ring flash.

though in reality the best bet would be a dslr with a 100mm macro lens and a ring flash. as the working distance on the p&s may be too short for the ring flash. not really sure though, as i don't really do anything like this.

I agree...DSLR, 100 macro, ring light...with the DSLR just leave it on auto program and push the shutter button...I would think.

Dentist should go to a good camera store and get a knowledgeable clerk to set up a system that he/she could try.
