That depends on why you're looking at the G1. ;-)

Is there something you're finding limiting with the Sony for the conditions you're shooting in? If so, is it something a different lens would solve?

I'll move this post down to our What Camera Should I Buy? Forum, where you'll be more likely to get input from members.

BTW, Welcome to the Forums.

Hi and welcome to Steve's.

what is the A200 not doing that is making you want to change? What lenses do you currently have and other accessories?

Thanks Mark. I have the 18-70 mm F3.5-5.6 lens but no other accessories. I just think the G1 looks more compact . I am known in my family as a serial camera buyer though .. as soon as a new model comes out that looks good I have to have it!!

I merged the two threads you started so that all of the answers would be in the same place.

I'd try them out in a store and see what you're more comfortable with if size is the biggest issue. You may also want to look at the new A230 (which is smaller and lighter compared to your A200).

LOL Jim, I was trying to do it at the same time as you so wondered why it wouldn't work. I did manage to delete the duplicate post before you got to it though

P.S.

You may also want to consider a point and shoot model of some type that you can use when you don't want to carry a dSLR around with you. IOW, use more than one camera.

I dunno... I was also deleting it and I didn't see any errors. In any event, one of us got to it first. LOL

You're not trying to use Alkalines in it by any chance? You'll want to go with high capacity rechargeable NiMH batteries in a digital camera like that one.
