Default which 12mp P&S?

Kodak EasyShare M381 12MP
B&H #KOM381BLGR
MFR #1147255
Our Price:$140.95

or
Samsung SL620
B&H #SASL620B
MFR #EC-SL620BBP/US
Our Price:$118.95

Both have same specs, but the Kodak is $20 more. What justifies it?
Is 12mp really needed? Is it too much for a small P&S sensor. I dont make too many prints.
I read that above 6mp on a P&S is a waste and reduces pixel quality as more pixels are crammed onto a small sensor.

The Kodak M381 has a longer lens, but the Samsung is wider. I do need more zoom, so Kodak it is.

glad you were able to answer your own question. i don't know much about the new kodak m381, not much info on it yet.

another model to look at is the Panasonic FS15, it also has a nice 5x zoom with image stabilization.
