Default mac friendly HD camcorder

I'm looking for a simple to operate/ reasonably inexpensive, Digi HD (720-1080) camcorder. I want to download to iMovie 6, iPhoto, and/or Final Cut Express. I'm happy without still mode. Stabilization and low light capability would be great. I'll be shooting short experimental videos. If you feel like it you can check out some examples on YouTube. (Search - Perry Botkin) All the live action stuff was shot with a Canon PowerShot A 560 still camera in Movie mode. It's definitely time for me to move uptown. (Well. . at least a few blocks).
Any ideas? Thanx.

The Panasonic GS-400 and the Sony SR-8 are very compatible with the Mac, a long time MAC user reports.

I appreciate the suggestions. I'm most interested in the JVC HD GZ 300. Can someone tell me if my Mac download procedure will work? Via USB, I would like to download to either imovie VERSION 6!, iPhoto, or Final Cut EXPRESS! If I can, which one do you think has the best quality?

I have it and all I did was plug it into my macbook and I was ready to go. Since it is HD it will be downloaded into Imovie, Iphoto does not handle hd video. I do not use final cut so I do not know.

which version of iMovie do you have. I have version 6. quite different from 7,8,&9. Seems I read that download only works with 8&9. Hope I'm wrong.
