You may want to get the zoom, depending on where in the club you are. You may need to go out to 90mm to get the shot. Right now you only can reach 55, think with more reach is important for you needs. Flash is a must though.

I'm not sure I understand that post. If you're talking about the DA 55mm f/1.4, that lens normally sells for around $639 from what I can see at prices at popular vendors like B&H. In contrast, the FA 50mm f/1.4 is selling for a lower $359 right now.

So, if you could get something like the DA 55mm f/1.4 for only $114 after rebates, that's a steal (literally, as it's probably a pricing error). LOL

To determine you version ..hold the menu button down and turn on the camera...

(for those who need to know..)

also for the op.. the 50-200 is weather proof and the 55-300 isn't

Can you take me there...I can find that deal for the K-7 but not for the K-X????

Talk about feeling stupid. That's how I'm feeling right now. I misread the form and read it as the K-X and not the K-7.

There goes my bubble and those lovely lenses along with it.

I'm crushed and deflated. And should also wear my glasses when surfing the Internet.

Look at it this way...anyone who buys the K-7...sure needs a break on 'something' it might as well be lenses..

when you've already chosen the 'better deal' ...you'll just have to wait til the next local sale...

Thanks for making me feel better. On my current shopping list are the Metz 48 flash, I'll be ordering that very soon, and in the not too distant future the Pentax FA 50mm F 1.4 lens to be my low light lens that I'll be using for club work.

Big relief that the decision was made about which camera to get.

An excellent way to sort out what rebates are being offered is to go to:

www.cameratown.com/rebates

Have a great day.
