one other thing. if you plan to use this camera in clubs and bars. you probably would not be allowed to use an external flash. so the better pop-up flash on the fz35 is probably more useful than the hotshoe on the canon.

I regularly post photos from the FZ-35 in the Panasonic P+S folder. I have a dawn photo posted, but no strictly night photos.

from the specs

this is for their pop-up flash, no external flash.
Canon SX20IS - ~21 feet
Panasonic FZ35 - ~25 feet

thanks sarah .. just one thing is bugging me is that
my frnd owns a sony h 50 ans says thats better that fz and it has night mode and tilting screen too.... what do i have to say to him..

i would just smile and tell your friend that you are glad he enjoys his camera.

but know that the fz-35 is a better camera (and newer as well), better evf, less noise reduction smearing, better zoom range, etc.

ok last one .. whats the difference between the fz 28 and 35 ..as im getting the 28 cheaper ..
