Hi Peter,

I use the Canon SX1 which has the same lens as the SX20 but with fully HD video and stereo sound as well as a few other bells and whistles.

The reason the Panasonic is a slightly better camera if you are not wanting to add a flash in the future is that the lens is 'brighter' which means it allows more light in allowing you to shoot slightly easier in darker conditions. However we are not talking huge differences. It is a bit smaller and lighter than the Canon which is good for some, not for others.

One area that can make quite a deciding factor is the battery system. Canon uses AA batteries and the Panasonic uses it's own dedicated one. For me I'm happy with both, but this (along with the hot shoe) is why my dad has a SX20 rather than the FZ-35. For him he just wants to take one charger when going travelling so he can do everything with a basic AA one.

Hi,

thanks for reply.

My one more question is that, In which compartment fz35 is better than fz28?
Can it is good turn to go with fz35 instead of fz28 as fz28 as very much low price than fz5?

Thanks,
Peter.

Peter-

The specifications of the Panasonic FZ 28 and FZ-35/38 are really quite similar. The F-35 has more options for color , contrast, and saturation, and 2 more megapixels, but that is the extent of the difference.

If you face a situation where the FZ-28 is substantially less expensive that the FZ-35/38, then the FZ-28 is also a very good choice, although one generation previous to the FZ-35/38.

Have a great day.

Peter-

The FZ-28 had normal video features, while the FZ-35/38 have HD video, stereo sound and the ability to zoom while filming.

Peter-

"Normal" video is 480 X 640 pixels at 30fps. HD video is a greater or improved resolution video.
