The T1i also has a larger and higher resolution lcd better to review pictures on, it also has a high ISO setting so shooting in low light without a flash is better. The HD on the T1i is at both 1080 and 720. The nikon shoots at only 720. The nikon has the swivel screen. Kinda nice feature.

The noise is not the camera, but with the lens. It is a bit noisier then the nikon. But if you do go further into photography with a dslr. You will most likely expand you lenses. And you can get higher quality lenses with USM motors instead, which are faster and super quite. The nikon kit lens is quieter. But both nikon and the canon kit lens are very sharp.

I have both the kit lenses for my t1i and allot of EF lenses with USM. And the noise is greater, but it is not the train wreak allot make it out to be. Best thing to do is go to the shops. And test it out for yourself.

the camera is 729 form the online retailer,
the card is around 20 dollars.
A good bag is about 50-80 dollars.

So I think you can do better.

Yea I noticed they went up in price. Bestbuy had it for 729 and i think they now bumped it up to 749. I knew I shouldn't of hesitated to buy. Its just that backpack came with an extra battery.

The canon camera bag is a big advertisement that you are carrying something expensive. I would go with a high quality bag from tamrac, crumpler, kata, or lowepro. There are couple more good ones, like m-rock. But I have never used them.

I stand corrected the extra battery is 10 dollars.

Just an example with a aftermarket bag.

adorama
729 t1i with one lens
50 tamrac messenger 4
29 sandisk Ultra II 8gb
10 battery
819 total

You can go with a transcend 8gb class 6 for 25 dollars and you will have a faster card, that will do better in burst then the class 4 Ultra II. I have the class 4 Ultra II, it does fine for HD, but there is buffer lag if you go for long burst rates of more then 4 seconds in raw or high jpeg.

That is pretty good deal getting 10% off from best buy.

That card should work fine as it is a class 6 card for burst mode in raw and jpeg. But I have never heard of it, so I do not know how it performs. But if you are planning to shot raw, there is allot of storage on that card.
