Default Which Canon point and shoot with short delay?

We have a Canon Rebel XSI, but I want a point and shoot camera that I can take with me since the Rebel is so big. We had it narrowed down to the Canon A1100 and the Canon SD1200 but both seem to have about a 4-5 second delay before I can take another pic. I have 3 small kids and want to be able to take my pics fast. I know that I can change it to continuous shooting but then I risk having blurry photos with moving kids. Can anyone recommend a Canon digital camera that take pics quickly? I don't really want to spend anymore than $200.

The best point and shoot delay in the $200 and under range is the SD-1200 with a fully charged battery does quite well.
