Yes, I forgot that. Samsung uses a dual model designation. The HW15W is the same as the WB-500, so you found the correct camera, and I am delighted to know that it is in your budgeted range.

It looks pretty much perfect.

Do you think it is a better buy than the Canon SX120 IS? The Canon seems to have a few better specs but the size of the Samsung makes it quite attractive. The Canon is also $70 dollars cheaper.

It all depends how important that wide angle and lithium ion battery are to you. I own both the Canon SX-120 and the WB550. To me the SX-120 has a very slight edge, if the AA battery power on the SX-120 is not a factor for you.
