Default Again, recomendations for an affordable P & S

I've bought my DSLR, with much advice from many of you here, and am slowly learning how to use it when I have time.

But I am still in need of a dependable and affordable p & s for work. Photos are for real estate appraisals that range from industrial properties to vacant land, and a wide angle is helpful to capture as much of the area as possible. Quick shot to shot time will also be beneficial, but I expect the upgrade from my old camera will cover much of the difference. These photos will reduced in size for reports, so reproduction quality is not as important as if they were published in glossy advertisements.

Edit: I just noticed a comment in another thread regarding GPS on some cameras. This could be helpful when documenting photos in the middle of nowhere.

Any quick thoughts?

Thank you

Luke-

Yes, GPS geo tagging has been for about 5 or 6 years by appraisers and tax authorities. However you will only find that feature currently on the Sony HX5 ($349) and the Panasonic ZS7 (about the same price). The GPS trends is new for 2010 and not too widespread yet.

Is the GPS option one that will be forthcoming on most cameras in the next few years, and will become more affordable as a result or is it a niche option?

Luke-

In reading online in other Forums, I have found some real consumer resistance, along the lines of: "why should I pay for something I am never going to and don't want to use!"

Thus, I believe that the future of GPS and geo tagging is till very unknown.
