Default Fujifilm Finepix J250W or Olympus FE-4020

Hi I am new to the forum as I was pointed here by a friend of mine because I am stuck trying to decide on a new digital camera

As mentioned I am looking for a new digital cam and I have narrowed it down to the Fujifilm Finepix J250W (specks: http://www.fujifilm.ca/x17493.xml ) or the Olympus FE-4020 (specks: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_ [...] page=specs ) based on local availability. I was wondering over all which one is better, as well as any other input you may have.

I will also mention I don't know much about photography or digital cameras technically speaking so try to minimize the techno jargon
Thanks

Between the 2 I would lean towards the J250, it is a bit better between those 2 budget cameras.

Do you happen to be near or be a member of Costco? Right now you can get Panasonic's ZR1, which is a significant step up in all areas over either of the aforementioned cameras. Better zoom, better image quality, etc. for 170$. It is also available from Amazon.com for 185$. It would be worth the extra effort if you are able to do so.

Rakivic-

Neither camera is a very good choice at all. In his professional review conclusion on the Fuji J250, the founder of this web site wrote:

Rakivic-

I apologize I cut that quote too close. Besides the Kodak 1093, Steve was recommending the Canon A-1100 camera. The Panasonic ZR1 suggested by Dustin is a little higher in price, but also a very good choice for $170.00.

I am in Canada (small town at that) and the ZR1 is over $240 and I am trying to find one not over $200 the only place I can get them are the Source and Futureshop. Below is the list of the camaras I can get localy and afford so which one of them is the best?

Panasonic DMCFH3K
Fuji Finepix JZ310
Samsung ES73
Olympus FE-5020
Samsung EC-ST60
CANON Cyber-shot DSC-W330
Samsung ES65
CANON Powershot A3100IS
Nikon COOLPIX S3000

rakivic-

Based solely on the list you just provided, I would suggest the Panasonic FH3 is the best of the lot.

That makes my life so much easier, I will run out and grab that tomorrow when I get paid. After that I have to learn how to use it

Congratulations, rakivic-

I am glad that we found the correct "fit" in cameras for you.
