Default Canon SX20 vs. Sony HX5 vs. Panasonic ZS3

I was able to go and look at the canon and the sony but the store only had the Panasonic ZS5 on hand.

It seemed that the canon took the best pictures out of the 3 I looked at. The panasonic did not do so well but had a good price point. I loved how the Sony had the panoramic mode and it was full HD but it was not as sharp as the canon sx20.

Out of these sx20, hx5 or zs3 which is the better camera.

I can get the canon for $369.00 on sale right now but have to buy tomorrow. The sony was $349.00 and it looks like online the ZS3 is around $299.00

The size of the camera is not a big deal. Looking for quality over size.

Dishsoap

The Canon SX-20 will provide an EVF and better image quality than the compact zoom HX5 or the ZS3.

Have you compared the SX-20 against the Panasonic FZ-35? The FZ-35 has just about the same features, but can be used up to ISO 800 and no flash with ease.

I have attached a ISO 800 photo sample from the FZ-28, the camera that the FZ-35 replaced.

AHHH yes. Just as I typed the thread I saw a review on the panasonic fz35. It looks like it get better reviews over the canon.

Anyone know what store stocks the FZ35. I like to buy in person but if I have to go through the web its no biggie.

The Panasonic FZ-35 is widely distributed so you should be able to find it in any big box stroe.

It is the new model. In some areas finding a panasonic camera retailer can be difficult for some reason, especially considering how popular they are. I think alot buy online.

B&H has it for $330 and Dell has it for $325. You really can't beat the B&H return policy though. If you don't like it, return it within the allotted time (think it's 15 days for non-holiday purchases) and get your money back.
