Default New to DSLR .... Canon T1i /500D !!

Hello Everyone,

I finally picked up a DSLR ! My DSLR choice was the Canon T1i/500D with the kit lens. I also ordered a "nifty fifty" Canon 50mm F/1.8 II to start.

I would like to thank the very many people who posted a vast amount of information when choosing a DSLR. This must be one of the best forums for camera advice that I have visted. I spent a few hours searching and reading threads to find the camera that would best to suit my needs.

I am quite surprised no one tells any newbie to at least search the threads..sometimes.. lol

Special thanks to

MTClimber
TCav
Shoturtle
(and few others I probably missed) for proving a wealth of knowledge when users are new to the DSLR world.

Thanks,
-Ryan

I'm pleased to have been able to help. Good luck with the T1i. It's a fine camera. And come back and post something.

I've had my 500D/T1i for three months and I'm very pleased with it. I also have the 'Nifty Fifty' f/1.8 which works very well with it.

I thinks its a great starter camera to have and will last a good while ! I saw your other post on the T1i and I think you will be very happy with it... you could even go to the T2i/550D if you had extra cash..Defenitly get a better lens though.

Good luck !
