guhengs-

Yes on both counts. The Fz-35 is more user friendly than the Sony H-50, HX5, or HX-1. And yes, the FZ-35 is very easy to customize and control.

That sounds great. What's the model coming up replacing FZ35? I heard it's coming during the summer. If it's going to be great, I can sure wait for that. If not, I'll go with this FZ35!!

Panasonic plays things pretty close to the belt and makes a huge effort to prevent leaks in advance of any camera announcement. If Panasonic follows their somewhat established pattern, the announcement will come in late July or early August, with the new cameras being available in October, in time for for the Christmas market.

I have the Sony HX1 - I found it to be an excellent camera and have absolutely no problems with image quality (except in very low light - but that goes without saying with bridge cameras). I have used the Panorama function a LOT on holidays .... it is excellent.

I haven't used the FZ35 so can't really comment on any comparison between the two but I can say I've never regretted buying the HX1.
