Haris_ el,

I would, but that will be 2 straight weekend that I would have to fly back and forth between the US an Europe and I have a wedding on the 26th in Germany. Did that twice last year, it was rough on the old body. 4 transatlantic flights in 14 days does get to you, let alone the jet lag.

OK ok you are excused i'll send you some photos of the wedding...

I never thought i would have so many problems in deciding for something!
I met some friends during the weekend:
- the first said get a DSLR, they are great, and wont be so complicated, they have auto mode so you wont regret it
- the other said, don't get either a pentax or a panasonic, just get the G11, it has everything!
- and the last one just said, why would you want something that doesn't fit in your pocket when you are travelling!?

I always read reviews of various things before i buy them, but i am starting to be angry with my self for not deciding on this one!

i don't want to feel the regret feeling later...

pretty much all 3 types of camera has their place. If photography is something you want to get deeper into, the dslr is the option with most growth.

But a epl-1 comes very close to the k-x minus, just behind in the low light department.

The G11 is a compromise option with a fix lens but adds allot of ability in low light, the fz will give up low light but add a big zoom in the bridge/ megazoom.

Pocket cameras have their place. Great for just carry around and shoot whatever. Not allot of controls. I have 2 pocket point and shoots. But I generally get one with out all the bells and whistles as those features are on my dslr or evil camera. So I keep mine in the under 200 range.

Hello,

Does anyone have both FZ35 and k-x?

I just want to check about the video size for both, are they similar? Or FZ35 has smaller size of output in mb?

I am concerned that for holidays, taking a video might force me to buy more and more memory cards!

I can tell you that the pentax takes very nice 720p video in low light. No fz that I have access to.

Thanks man.

Yes, i saw some excellent videos on Vimeo, the manual focus does some excellent effect too...

My only concern is the 5mb per second > 300mb per minute >3gb for 10 min...

Thus on a three week trip i would be very reluctant to capture anything on video, as i will be thinking continuously memory cards!

Do you know if settings can be changed to capture smaller sizes as well?

It is going to be the same on the FZ, Think that is what the 720p standard requires and a class 6 sdhc card. It is 4gb on my T1i at 1080 for 12min and the same as the k-x at 720. HD takes up allot of space.
