Mtclimber,

For Kibaris work in architecture, he will be better serve with the wider angle of the HS10 vs the FZ. It is not much but it can make a difference in tighter confines. But if it was not the need for work that he has, the FZ is a better value and a great camera.

...wow, few hours left till the time I go to replace nikon p-100 (100%) with fz38 (80%) or Fuji hs10 (20%)...
I wish:
1. it is wise to replace nikon p100
2. make the correct final dicision
...
Any 'last minute advice' would be of grate help!
Ok, I know wide 24vs27, 18X vs 30X, 2,7" vs 3" etc, so have in mind that 'image quality' is what I mostly care for!

They are both very very good in IQ. There are tons of examples of HS10 and FZ35 in the fuji and panasonic point and shoot forum.

You really can not go wrong with either, they are the top 2 in the megazoom category right now imho. FZ has a proven track record as the HS10 is still pretty new.

I would steer well clear of the Nikon P-100. If you have doubts, take a good look at the recent professional review of the P-100 at www.dcresource.com.

In terms of a choice between the Panasonic FZ-35 and the Fuji HS-10, both are very good cameras. However, between the two cameras, I prefer the FZ-35. It is full featured, has great HD video, is user friendly, has great image quality and costs less.

A big THANK YOU to all that with their remarks helped me take the (right I hope!) decision:So, finally I went for fz38!
Compering with Nikon P100, that I used for about two months:
Very first (and superficial) impression: cheap fealing materials, not 'classy' look, second best LCD (2.7") but adequate, not friendly menu (with no much guidance and hints, just difficult to remember symbols), small and slow sequence of consecutive shots (burst mode) which is the most important I have noticed so far.
BUT
natural colors, a useful quick menu, light camera, seems like a long life battery, handy flash, equal to p100 wide angle...
After all photography is colorfull light that YOU can handle!
I am begining to feel that is a good camera!
Not much testing yet, but weekend is coming!
alexander
p.s. Is there any update for the firmware? It is equiped with 1.0, I suppose the standard initial software.

Then I discovered the 'fast burst mode' in scene menus! Amazing, realy fast and handy!!! +10!
