Default pan. fz38 replaced?

Does anybody know if and when panasonic fz38 is going to be replaced? If yes, any details would be very helpful!
Thank you,
alexander

Panasonic is traditionally very tight lipped about any camera introductions. If they proceed on their usual schedule, an announcement of the FZ-35/38 replacement will be made in late July or early August, with the replacement camera on the dealer's shevles by the first of October.

No details at all are available. However, all one has to do is to look at the competition. Fuji has already made their move with the HS-10, while Canon and Panasonic are due for a super zoom replacement models.

Oh, dear! One more question: would you buy now fz38, or would you wait for the replacement...?

Go and buy it. There will always be a newer/bigger/better model just
around the corner, no matter how long you wait. There are many
nice things in Greece waiting to be photographed. You don't want to
spend the whole summer without a camera.

Here in the USA, the prices on the Panasonic FZ-35 are close to their all time low historic low prices. Perhaps it is that way in the UK as well. So, no I would not hesitate to purchase the current FZ-38 model. It is a great camera and it will certainly serve you well.

It is obvious that the new replacement model will cost measurably more.

If you need the camera now, get it now. It is a great camera. But like others have pointed out there is always something newer just couple of months down the road. It's one of the class leaders and still is with the HS10 that was just release. The canon SX will be replace soon, and that is a good megazoom also. You should get a camera when you need it.
