Sarah and warren83,

Thanks for the wonderful compliments! I took some more today on my lunch break and I'm going to process them and post them on Flickr soon. Warren83, I really like the ZS5, and way way better than an olympus P&S IMHO. I think you would like it too. You just have to remember the limitations vs. a DSLR, but I believe it can take 95% of photos without much difficulty.

I see there is a ZS-6 at Costco. Anyone know the difference between the ZS6 and ZS5? Don't know if it is worth the extra 50 dollars.
Thanks

Plus I think the ZS7 LCD has twice the resolution (460,000 vs. 230,000 pixels).

According to the specs on Costco's web page the resolution on the ZS6 LCD is also 460k.

o LCD Monitor
: 3.0 TFT LCD (460,000 dot) with anti-reflection coating

Folks have been describing it here as a stripped down ZS7, but I read somewhere that the ZS5 and ZS6 share a common user's manual (a ZS5 owner might be able to confirm or deny). If true, that would lead me to believe that the ZS6 is actually a dressed up ZS5.

I'm not sure whether that level of detail makes a difference, but somebody might find it worth knowing.

Right. The ZS6 and ZS7 share a similar screen. I was referring to the ZS5 in my post when I referred to the 230,000 dots. (I meant to compare the ZS5 to the ZS6 and I said ZS7 by mistake).

The detailed "Operating Instructions for Advanced Features" manual that is on the CD that comes with the ZS6 says "ZS7, ZS6, ZS5". In it, it clarifies which features are on which cameras. I think it might be available on the Panasonic website.
