I am sure that the A-230 will upgrade your photography and offer many interesting challenges for you. I see it definitely as a "keeper."

Great thanks for your your kind input into this long thread. I will go for the A230 at Jessops and add the 3 year warranty too. Hopefully i should order one next week as they are out of stock at the mo.

Thanks to everyone for your input / advice / awesome help

And just because the website is out of stock doesn't mean your local storefront doesn't have any. Give them a call.

Best of luck with it. If Jessops can't come up with the goods, try your
nearest Argos. You will save about 5 on the combined cost of
the camera and the three year warranty/insurance if you decide to
buy that too.

In the UK, Currys sells them, too. Ditto for Jacobs.

So, if you have one of those nearby, you may want to give them a call and see if it's stocked locally. The A230 with a 18-55mm lens is selling for 299.99 at both of those vendors.

Default Nikon D5000 Worth the money?

How do you guys rate the Nikon D5000? Reason i ask is that i have been offered one, hardly used, mint for 400. Is that a good deal?
