One more thing I just thought of on this. I know the G2 is old and slow, but if you were indoors and if speed doesn't matter, is going to still take better low light shots than that of a compact like these Panny's because of its larger sensor (or I would assume it is larger since the camera is larger), or does the newer technology of the small cameras make up for that giving those the edge at better photos now?

what i would do is make a list of what you must have then get a list of cameras and see if hey fit the bill then go and look at them in the fleshin this digital age i am sure there will be one that will be just right for you
