Default point and shoot (again! : )

I'm looking for a point and shoot. The most important thing is image quality. I'm doing primarily landscape photography and will want to enlarge pictures (as big 20X28 possibly). It would be nice to have a zoom of at least 10X, but that's not as important as image quality. Someone suggested the G11, but that's a bit pricey. Any others out there with the G11 image quality?

If you want to print at 20x28 you are going to need a pretty good camera. I don't know how many sub-$400 cams are capable of print sizes like that. Most pro review put the Panasonic ZS7 at an 8x10 limit and the Sony HX5V at 5x7 - just as 2 examples. Both of those cams are around $300.

Welcome to the Forum. We're pleased that you dropped by.

In the under $500 category, the following cameras could easily make 20" X 28" prints if a tripod was used. Canon S-90, G-11, or XSi.

And, of course, there is the Fujifilm HS-10 that people seem to overlook a LOT lately. The price has dropped below $500 and it's a marvel.
